If a born-again Christian believes in literal prophecy and that the end-times are near, shouldn’t they be disallowed from operating heavy equipment, piloting aircraft, and driving? Or should it be expected that they would refuse to do such things?
Well, if the Rapture comes and the airline pilots go POOF! that’s no doubt all part of God’s grand design. I mean, depending upon whether you are one who believes the Tribulation will follow or precede the Rapture, 1/3 (or is it 2/3? I forget) will die in the upcoming series of holy natural disasters anyway. What’s a few airline passengers to add to that, when all the Christians on the plane will have gone POOF! too?
Which explains why that Christian pilot told his passengers that if they weren’t Christian they were crazy.
Well, yes, indeed. Perfectly logical.
If at any moment the pilot might go POOF! you’d be crazy to ride with him if you didn’t expect to go POOF! as well.
Note to self: always ride with Hindu or Moslem cab drivers.
Interesting point. Seeing as how Husband Pilot is not Christian in the slightest, I figure I’m safe flying with him.
Problem with this idea of “safety” with non-christian pilots:
1. If christians are wrong, then you don’t need to worry about them going bye-bye.
2. If christians are right, then:
a) If you’re Christian you’re gone too.
b) If you’re not Christian you’ll probably have time to “repent” before the plane hits the ground, assuming you are the type who would resort to that kind of last-minute butt-covering.
and c) If you’re not Christian, you’ll be spending an eternity in hell, so who cares if you end up there a few years earlier or later? Plus the theory is its pretty much going to be hell on earth anyway, right?
So
3. Either way, there is obviously no problem for anyone who is flying with Christian pilots/drivers/etc.
