If you’ve listened to Mingus (and you should!), then you have most likely heard the great trombonist Jimmy Knepper. Or maybe you heard of the altercation where Mingus punched Knepper and knocked out one of his teeth, earning an assault conviction. And later Knepper returned to perform with him again!
